WELCOME!
Welcome back, or for some of you for the first time to Choral Music here at South Gibson County High School. I am Johnathan Johnson and I am the new Choir director in addition to being the assistant band director here. I am returning back to my old stomping grounds here in West TN after a 4 year hiatus at Lincoln County High School in Fayetteville, TN (Southern Middle TN) as the Director of Bands. I am a graduate of Peabody High School, the University of Tennessee at Martin, and soon to be a Graduate of Central Washington University and the American Band College. I am thrilled to be back in the area and to hit the ground running this fall.
A little more about me: In my time at Lincoln County I assisted with the LCHS Show Choir and the fall musicals, in addition to directing the Marching Band, Jazz Band, Indoor Percussion Group, Winter Guard, Concert Band, Pep Band, and Wind Ensemble. I have also performed and toured with the UTM New Pacer Singers during my tenure at UTM as well as being an active member in my church choir. Since taking an additional vocal conducting and literature course of study in college all those years ago, I have been itching to actually teach chorus. I am thrilled to finally have the opportunity to teach a chorus class, and to share my love and passion for music with you this fall. I will be updating this site regularly so please feel free to check back and see any changes. Additionally, I may begin hosting this resource on a new server and platform with a different URL name, but I will give you plenty of notice before those changes are made.
